Axalta launched a new environmentally-responsible, cathodic tin-free electrocoat primer to its Industrial Coatings portfolio.
AquaEC 3500 EP is based on next-generation, tin-free electrocoat Axalta technology and it has been specifically formulated to meet the evolving needs of its customers in the automotive parts and accessories, agriculture, construction and earthmoving equipment (ACE) and general industry sectors as well as industrial job coaters.
“We developed AquaEC 3500 EP to meet increasingly complex market demands for coatings on varying substrates, part designs and pre-treatment options," said Frank Wiefling, E-coat product manager for Axalta’s EMEA Industrial Coatings business.
AquaEC 3500 EP not only offers energy savings due to its low curing temperature of 150°C, but also it is part of a modular mixing concept that makes it a cost-effective solution.
It has a robust window of application coupled with good substrate adhesion and excellent chemical and corrosion resistance.
“AquaEC 3500 EP answers the demand from our customers for highly productive and effective coating solutions that offer superior edge corrosion protection and meet all environmental constraints, such as REACH compliance. Our products are developed to help our customers meet the daily coating challenges they face,” Wiefling said.
