Evonik Corporation’s Lafayette, Ind., site awarded almost $9,900 in grants to teachers in Tippecanoe County schools to fund science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) programs in the 2018-2019 school year. These programs will have a direct impact on more than 2,200 local students.
Evonik’s contributions to the local school systems mark the 23rd consecutive year teachers in the community were awarded grants under the Partners in Education program.
"We are very honored to receive these grants and appreciate Evonik's continued support for our teachers and students," said Dr. Scott Hanback, Tippecanoe School Corporation superintendent. "These grants will enhance our STEM curriculum with more hands-on, interactive activities that will have students excited about learning, while building problem-solving and critical-thinking skills."
“Science and engineering are the underpinning of our business, so we are proud to provide these grants and support STEM education in our communities,” said Clive Whiteside, vice president and manager of Evonik’s Lafayette site.
