PPG recently helped to rejuvenate the Associació de Solidaritat i Ajuda Veïnal (ASAV) community center in Rubi, Barcelona, Spain, with donated paint and paint supplies as well as employees who volunteered to fix and brighten the center’s walls. Participating PPG employees work at the company’s Rubi facility as well as nearby sites in Montcada and Barberà del Vallès.
Paint supplies and about 200 liters of DYRUP brand paints were donated by the Barberà del Vallès site. Also, nine PPG employees collaborated to perform needed repairs and painting at the center, where nonprofit organization ASAV offers support and workforce training to individuals who are trying to rebuild their lives.
“This was such a fulfilling project,” said Cristina Soler, PPG human resources director, Portugal and Spain. “At the end of the day, we saw how our efforts and PPG’s donations together helped to improve our community.”
