Tremco Incorporated said it acquired Schul International Co., LLC and Willseal LLC.
Schul is a Hudson, New Hampshire-based manufacturer of pre-compressed, self-expanding foam tapes used for sealing vertical and horizontal joints in commercial construction, infrastructure, OEM/industrial and residential applications. Also based in Hudson, N.H., Willseal is a sales and marketing company targeting these applications with products from Schul.
The Schul and Willseal subsidiaries will continue to operate under those names and will work in close alignment with Tremco’s Commercial Sealants & Waterproofing Division.
Through the acquisition, Tremco adds proprietary systems, including those that are fire rated to provide passive fire protection and others that are pre-coated with silicone to deliver weather-tight joints. The systems are further differentiated by their use of monolithic foam, whereas competing products are made from several layers of foam that are then laminated together
“The addition of Schul and Willseal to the Tremco CS&W portfolio gives us best-in-class impregnated foam joint sealant products,” Tremco CS&W President Chuck Houk said.
The Sealtite and Willseal products complement Tremco’s existing restoration offering including Tremco liquid expansion joint systems with PUMA technology, traffic coatings, glazing systems, sealants, wall coatings and other products.
“This acquisition also provides Tremco with increased production capacity and market-facing brands in Willseal and Schul’s Sealtite that can be leveraged immediately,” said Houk. “The complimentary, premium products, talented people, and technical expertise of both organizations will allow us to further strengthen our position as the leading producer of connectivity solutions for the high-performance building enclosure.”
